SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced beginning on April 7, Ireland Road between Miami Street and Ironwood Road will have temporary lane restrictions and closures as part of the Ireland Road Pavement Project.

Crews will install new curbs and driveway approaches in select locations in this area. 

Outside lanes will be closed with traffic shifted to the inside lanes. Restrictions will remain in place through the end of June.

The Ireland Road Pavement Project includes paving a 2.8-mile stretch of Ireland Road from the western city limits to Ironwood Drive.

Before paving work can begin, new curbs and driveway approaches will need to be completed.

Ireland Road will remain open during paving but will be restricted to one-lane in each direction.
