SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Common Council will decide whether to commit another $9,000,000 to renovate and expand the Morris Performing Arts Center.
The $9,000,000 would fund phase two of the Morris 100 Initiative, continuing renovations, and covering construction of the Raclin Murphy Encore Center.
This money would come directly from the city's general fund, which the city claims should be reimbursed in state dollars over time.
The money is already part of the city budget, but the Common Council will make the final $9,000,000 decision during its Monday meeting.
