South Bend Cubs announce 2021 schedule

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The 2021 South Bend Cubs schedule was announced today, and the season opener is just 76 days away.

The South Bend Cubs, now a newly minted High-A team, will play their season opener at Four Winds Field against the Quad Cities River Bandits on May 4 at 7:05 p.m.

Some changes have been made to the schedule, like teams playing a six-game series against the same opponent instead of three or four games, in an effort to reduce travel for the season.

Clubs will also have every Monday off.

Despite certain changes, popular promotions will return to the ballpark this year, like Fantastic Friday Fireworks and Flat Screen Saturdays.

“There is still some work to be done as we plan the 2021 season, but having our schedule is a great start,” said South Bend Cubs Vice President and General Manager Nick Brown. “We will be working closely with Major League Baseball and the St. Joseph County Health Department to ensure our reopening plans meet the highest health and safety standards.”
