Snow and very cold this weekend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A host of local leaders, Cubs team representatives, lawmakers and more signed the final steel beam put in place for the new second deck at Four Winds Field on Wednesday.
The $48 million project is approaching the halfway point of completion with a target end-date of opening day 2026.
South Bend Cubs owner, Andrew Berlin, says that the fan experience will be unique in 2025 with construction ongoing as the season happens, but added that many new amenities will be added before the season starts in April.
Additions include new seats from dugout to dugout, a larger splash pad set to open in May, restrooms in the outfield stands and expanded foul ball netting to ensure visitor safety.
