South Bend Cubs merchandise in high demand

South Bend Cubs merchandise is flying off of the shelves.

South Bend Cubs Merchandise Manager Brandy Beehler said business has been nonstop since the Cubs announced its new affiliation December 4th.

“The store was packed and it's been pretty consistent and constant since then,” she said. 

New comers and regulars have been stopping by once or twice a week to check out new gear.

It isn't just local fans who want to get a piece of the Cubs swag. Beehler has even shipped merchandise overseas.

“Just last week I shipped a package to Sweden,” Beehler said. 

It's no surprise sales are up. Way up.

“Merchandise sales are up 850- percent compared to where we were at this time last year,” Beehler said. 

Sales are up both in store and online.

Online, the Cubs received more than 1400 orders in just a few weeks.

Beehler said recent sales exceed online sales from 2011, 2012, and 2013 combined. 

Fans will see a host of new brands this year.

Everything from Nike, to Under Armour, Russell Athletic—and even St. Claire Apparel, a local vendor right here in South Bend.

Store hours are Tuesday through Friday 10-4 and Saturday 10-2.
