South Bend Cubs release 2017 schedule

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -

Even though this season hasn't ended yet, the South Bend Cubs have released their schedule for the 2017 season.

The South Bend Cubs will open their season with a pair of games on April 6 and 7 at Comstock Park against West Michigan.

The series against West Michigan will continue at Four Winds Field on April 8 and 9, the first home games of the season.

There will be a total of 18 fireworks shows throughout the season.
 
Other schedule highlights include games on Memorial Day weekend (May 26-29), Father's Day (June 18) and Independence Day weekend (July 1-4). The team will wrap up the home schedule on September 1st and conclude the regular season on the road at Bowling Green (September 2-5).

"The 2016 season has continued the upward trend for our organization, highlighted by a 1st Half Division Championship and setting a new franchise attendance record for the third time in three seasons," said Team President Joe Hart. "As we prepare for the 2017 season, we will look to build upon the ground work we have laid over the last four years and make the 30th season of professional baseball in South Bend our best year yet."

All Monday through Thursday and Saturday home games start at 7:05 p.m., with the exceptions of May 3, 16 and 17 (10:35 a.m. start), May 29 (2:05 p.m.) and July 17 (1:05 p.m.). All Friday games will start at 7:35 p.m., and Sunday games will start at 2:05 p.m.

The South Bend Cubs season ticket waitlist for 2017 is now open. Fans will receive priority access to purchase individual game tickets, concerts tickets and tickets to other special events at Four Winds Field before they go on sale to the general public. The waitlist is free of charge.
