SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend Cubs are raising money to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. All donations collected at Thursday night's game will go to the American Red Cross.
Director of Media and Promotions for the South Bend Cubs Chris Hagstrom says he was planning a Double Dare Night, and decided to pair it with a fundraiser to help those in Texas.
With Double Dare Night will be "Slime the Staff." This is a donation competition between five staff members, whose faces will be put on buckets at Thursday night's game.
This event will allow fans to put donations in the bucket of their choosing, and the staff member with the most money at the end of the night will be slimed on the field after the game.
The American Red Cross will also have a table set up at the game to take donations and discuss volunteer opportunities.
Donations of $10 can be sent to the American Red Cross at any time by texting HARVEY to 90999.
