South Bend Fire Department called out to Prosper Apartments

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at Prosper Apartments Sunday afternoon.

Crews responded to the call at 12:56 p.m. and were on the scene for two hours before the fire was under control and put out.

In containing the fire there was a lot of water damage done. Most of the blaze was contained within 30 minutes, with extra efforts going to ensure it didn't spread.

There is no word on any injuries at this time but Red Cross is on the scene. It is unknown how many families will be displaced by the fire, but several apartment units were affected.

Fire crews are still investigating the cause of the fire and the extent of damage.

This is the third fire at the complex within November.
