SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The South Bend Fire Department welcomed a new firefighter on Wednesday.
Third generation firefighter Blake Palicki was sworn in during a ceremony on June 26.
Palicki had his badge pinned by his father, Ed, who is also a firefighter with the South Bend Fire Department. Palicki’s grandfather also served with the South Bend Fire Department.
