South Bend gets a taste of Italy

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- A little bit of Italia came to Tuscana Park on Saturday.

Thousands of people packed into a tent at "Villa Macri" for Italian Fest.

It's a two-day event that nearly 6,000 people attend every year.

We spoke with the creator of this big festival and he said, because of the bad economy, more people are sticking around and want to shop local.

"I've been in business 32 years and been local and the money stays here," said Jerry Macri, owner of Villa Macri.

"Nothing against the big guys coming from out of town, but local you know, we're entrepreneurs and we're grown here and appreciate the local support," Macri continued.
