SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend International Airport will host its third annual Aviation Education Day on August 28.

This free, family-friendly event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the airfield at the Studebaker Hangar, west of the main terminal.

“We are excited to welcome the community back to SBN for a fun and informative Aviation Education Day,” said Tim O’Donnell, A.A.E., vice president of operations at SBN. “Learning about aviation is intriguing for people of all ages. It satisfies a curiosity associated with an industry that people rely so heavily on.”

The day’s event will include airfield tours, airport equipment showcases, aircraft displays, interactive presentations, and a career fair.

Area Boy Scouts of America will also have the chance to earn an aviation merit badge for attending and completing all requirements.

Gates will open at 8 a.m. for check-in for aviation merit badge participants.

Those attending should follow the signs on Lincoln Way West for free parking.
