South Bend lifts boil water advisory for water main break

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The precautionary boil water notice that was issued after a 16-inch water main pipe broke has been lifted, according to the South Bend Water Works Division.

The water main break occurred on Linden Avenue between Chicago and Illinois Streets on Saturday. It took crews several hours to repair the water main.

Residents were advised to boil their water until the water was safe to drink. The test results on Monday showed no signs of bacteria so the boil water advisory was lifted.
