South Bend man arrested for string of Niles break-ins

NILES, Mich. — A South Bend man is in jail following a breaking and entering arrest. Police say the 44-year-old is suspected of a string of break-ins along 11th street in Niles over the last several weeks.
The man was caught committing the break-ins on surveillance video.
Friday night police took a report of another break-in. They then caught up with the suspect down the road.
He eventually confessed to numerous break-ins in the Niles area.
Michigan State Police did not release the identity of the suspect.
