South Bend man faces molestation charges

SOUTH BEND — A South Bend man is facing molestation charges. Vernon Pearson, 43, is accused of forcing a young girl to have sex with him.
The girl's mom reported the abuse in May.
The girl told police that he woke her up one night while she was sleeping and forced her to have sex with him.
Pearson will be in court later in July.
