South Bend man sentenced on drug charges

A South Bend man was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for one count of possession of heroin and one count of possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.

Denzel Rakim Bridges, 25, was arrested after a search warrant was executed at his South Bend residence in May 2017.

While executing the search warrant, officers found two loaded handguns, $3,500 in cash, marijuana, multiple small baggies containing heroin, a digital scale and 16.8 grams of heroin.

In addition to the 78 month prison sentence, Bridges will serve 3 years supervised release.
