SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend man was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to receipt of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Timothy Humphries, 40, was sentenced to nine years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Humphries was also ordered to pay a $6,000 assessment.

In 2019, Humphries created fake social media profiles posing as a young teenage girl and used the profiles to chat with female minors, according to case documents.
