South Bend man sentenced to prison for fentanyl-related charges

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced 39-year-old Kevin Pope Jr., of South Bend, was sentenced after pleading guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.
Pope was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
Case documents state Pope sold methamphetamine and fentanyl to a buyer in South Bend on five occasions in October and November 2024.
Police then executed a search warrant at his home in December 2024 where they reportedly found over 30 grams of fentanyl, a kilogram of pills containing methamphetamine, about 90 grams of cocaine, and over $22,000 in cash.
Authorities also found a loaded handgun.
