South Bend mayoral candidate debate scheduled for Oct 6

The two candidates in the South Bend mayoral election are participating in a live debate on October 6 on the Indiana University South Bend campus.

Democrat Pete Buttigieg, the current mayor, and Republican Kelly Jones will participate in the debate moderated by Dr. Elizabeth Bennion, a political science professor at IUSB.

The event will be from 6 - 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 6 at the Wiekamp Hall Auditorium, Room 1001, on the IUSB campus.

The event is being held by the American Democracy Project, Political Science Club of IU South Bend and the League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area.

Candidates will be able to give opening and closing statements.

Audience members will be able to submit questions on notecards during the debate.
