South Bend McDonald's reopens after fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department responded to a fire at the McDonald's on Western Avenue at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Employees attempted to put out the fire, which started in the kitchen, but were unable to put it out.

Firefighters were able to fully extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The restaurant was open on Wednesday.
