South Bend Medical Foundation needs blood donations

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- It is time to roll up those sleeves.

The South Bend Medical Foundation needs your blood.

ABC57 stopped by the foundation today and they are in need of all blood types.

Especially O-Positive and O-Negative.

There is also a chance for more people to donate blood. Those with new tattoos can now donate sooner.

"The blood bank decided that we could go to a four week deferral instead of a one year deferral," Colleen Hahn of the South Bend Medical Foundation said. "So, if you get it at a license place, you're good to donate four weeks after you get a tattoo."

The medical foundation is celebrating its 100th birthday.

Donors will be registered to win a $100 Visa gift card. There is a new drawing every day through Sept. 30.
