South Bend Museum of Art celebrates student artists at Scholastic Art Showcase
South Bend Museum of Art SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Museum of Art is hosting its annual Scholastic Art Showcase on Friday, March 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The evening will highlight the very best of the Scholastic Art Awards, a nationally recognized and prestigious program that celebrates creative excellence among students across 19 counties in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan.
The event will award $2,000 in student prizes, announce Community Choice and Portfolio winners, and feature live voting for American Vision Awards as part of the national Scholastic Art Awards program.
The evening will also honor Ryan Sergeant, Mishawaka High School’s Art Department Chair and 2017 Teacher of the Year, for his impact on young artists.
“This event is about more than awards,” said Lisa Shaffer, Executive Director of the South Bend Museum of Art. “It’s about recognizing the talent, dedication, and potential of young artists—and the educators, schools, and community partners who make that possible.”
