South Bend Police apprehend man accused of taking 4-year-old

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -

South Bend Police have taken 61-year-old Charles Jackson into custody. They were searching for him because he allegedly took 4-year-old Anikah Smallwood from 456 S. Kentucky Street around 12:40 p.m. Thursday without permission.

Police say Jackson arrived at the residence and left with Anikah without permission.

Jackson was apprehended at 5:30 p.m. as he pulled up to the home on Kentucky Street.

Anikah was then reunited with her father.
