After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police have reopened East Calvert Street at Sampson just before 5 p.m.
Calvert Street was blocked off to traffic between Robinson and Sampson.
Multiple units were on the scene since for approximately 2 hours Friday afternoon.
Police had been notified of a fugitive in the area that was potentially armed and dangerous.
A search warrant was granted and SWAT and negotiators were called in to investigate.
The suspect was ultimately not located, police said.
