South Bend Police chief issues statement on recent shooting investigations

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Police Department’s Chief of Police, Scott Ruszkowski, issued a statement on social media Tuesday addressing the recent shooting investigations in South Bend.

In the post, Chief Ruszkowski says the department didn’t want to begin 2022 with more than 165 reports of shots fired and one of the most hectic 24 hours South Bend officers have faced in recent memory.

He went on to say that people know who is firing the shots but nobody is saying anything.

Chief Ruszkowski ended the post asking community members to help make South Bend a safer place for everyone.
