SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Police responded to the 6400 block of Armstrong Drive on Thursday around 7:30 p.m. to a report of an assault and possible shooting, according to the South Bend Police Department.
Officers found an injured female upon arriving at the Lafayette Falls Subdivision. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Police learned that a man had barricaded himself inside his home, so SBPD's Crisis Negotiators and SWAT Team were called to handle the scene.
SWAT used a chemical agent to make entry inside the home once the man stopped communicating with negotiators, and the standoff ended, according to police.
No statement was made as to whether or not any arrests were made.
