South Bend Police investigate shooting and attempted robbery

South Bend Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday sometime before 3:55 p.m.
According to a press release, officers were dispatched to an area hospital around that time.
There, they found Darius Antwan Burrell, 24, suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Police say it was reported that Burrell was walking near the intersection of North Adams Street and Elwood Avenue when an unknown suspect attempted to rob him, then shot him,
The press release says a passerby found Burrell on the ground after, and transported him to the hospital.
