South Bend Police investigating armed robbery of restaurant

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at Luigi's Pizza on Mishawaka Avenue around 7 p.m. Monday night.

Employees told police at 7:10 p.m., a man entered the store, told the clerk it was a robbery and displayed a handgun.

The suspect took cash from a tip jar and the register before fleeing.

Police believe he got into a vehicle and drove away.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a dark colored hoodie, dark jeans and a black winter cap with a red stripe.
