SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend Police Department is commemorating Distracted Driving Awareness Month this April by partnering with Drop Stop to give away tools to prevent drivers from taking their eyes off the road.

Drop Stop is a patented product featured on Shark Tank that blocks the gap between your driver's seat and center console.

The product keeps items like cell phones, keys, money and food from falling into hard-to-reach spaces in a vehicle, preventing drivers from getting distracted while searching for the items.

As part of the partnership, SBPD is giving away a limited number of Drop Stops for free to residents who come by the police department.

All you have to do is stop by the front desk and you can take one home.

Only one Drop Stop is allowed per person.

Drop Stops have also been installed in SBPD patrol vehicles.
