South Bend Public Transportation announces Sunburst Race Detours

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- According to the South Bend Public Transportation Corporation, multiple bus detours will be in place on Saturday due to the Sunburst Races.

Detours will result in Transpo time and location changes, so it’s recommended that riders review the temporary routes in advance.

• 6:20 & 7:20 a.m. #1 Outbound – From Michigan St, right on Monroe St. / Lincoln Way East, left on Twyckenham Dr., right on McKinley Ave resuming the regular route. Inbound – From McKinley Ave, left on Twyckenham Dr., right on Lincoln Way East / Monroe St., left on Michigan St. to South Street Station.
• 9:20 a.m. #1 Outbound – From Michigan St, right on Jefferson Blvd, left on Eddy St. resuming the regular route. Inbound – From LaSalle Ave, left on Eddy St., right on Jefferson Blvd resuming the regular route.
• 6:18, 7:18 & 8:18 a.m. #3A Outbound – From South Street Station, right on Michigan St., right on Sample St., right on Chapin St. / Charles Martin Dr. / Marion St., left on William St. resuming the regular route. Inbound – From Williams St, right on Western Ave, left on Chapin St., left on Sample St., left on Main St. to South Street Station.
• 6:40, 7:40 & 8:40 a.m. #4 Outbound – From South Street Station, right on Michigan St., right on Sample St., right on Chapin St. / Charles Martin Dr., left on Lincolnway West resuming the regular route. Inbound - From Lincolnway West, right on William St., right on Western Ave, left on Chapin St., left on Sample St., left on Main St. to South Street Station.
• 7:20 a.m. & 8:20 a.m. #5 Outbound – From South Street Station, right on Michigan St., right on Sample St., right on Chapin St. / Charles Martin Dr. / Marion St., left on Michigan St. resuming the regular route. Inbound (7:20 a.m. only) – From Michigan St, right on Marion St. / Charles Martin Dr., Chapin St., left on Sample St., right on Main St. to South Street Station.
• 6:20, 7:20 & 8:20a.m. #7 Outbound – From Michigan St, right on Monroe St. / Lincoln Way East, left on Twyckenham Dr. resuming the regular route. Inbound – From Twyckenham Dr., right on Lincoln Way East, left on Monroe St. resuming the regular route.
• 7:20 & 8:20 a.m. #9 Outbound – From Michigan St, right on Monroe St. / Lincoln Way West, left on Sample St., right on Mishawaka Ave (if Sample is blocked, will continue to Twyckenham), resuming the regular route.
• 6:40, 7:40, 8:40 & 9:40 a.m. #10 Outbound – From South Street Station, right on Michigan St, right on Sample St, right on Chapin St., left on Western Ave resuming the regular route. Inbound – From Western Ave, right on Chapin St, left on Sample St, left on Main St. to South Street Station.
• 7:40 & 8:40 a.m. #12/14 Inbound – From Sample St., left on Main St to South Street Station.
• 8:20 & 9:20 a.m. #13 Outbound – From Jefferson Blvd, left on Eddy St, right on Corby Blvd resuming the regular route. Inbound – From Corby Blvd, left on Eddy St, right on Jefferson resuming the regular route.

The Transpo department also warned that riders may experience delays throughout the public transportation system.
