South Bend Public Works Department holding public traffic calming meetings in February

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The public is invited to a series of meetings in February to discuss the City of South Bend Public Works Department's comprehensive Neighborhood Traffic Calming Plan.

The traffic calming plan offers solutions to slowing down traffic on 40-plus neighborhood streets where residents have frequently reported speeding by vehicles.

Residents can attend any of the following meetings:

  • February 16
    • 5:30 to 7 p.m. - Rum Village Nature Center (2626 S. Gertrude St.)
  • February 21
    • 5:30 to 7 p.m. - Howard Park Event Center (219 S. Saint Louis St.)
  • February 23
    • 5:30 to 7 p.m. - Near Northwest Neighborhood Inc. Community Center (1013 Portage Ave.)

Each meeting covers the same content. A brief presentation starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by an open house where residents can offer feedback to city staff.
