South Bend Regional Airport honors retired director

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Monday the retired director of the South Bend Regional Airport was honored for his years of service.
A bronze plaque with John Schalliol's name went on permanent display at the airport.
It marks one year since his retirement.
He started working at the airport in 1977 as an airport engineer and took the helm as executive director in 1981.
During his time at the airport he managed more than $85 million in capital improvements.
