South Bend residents asked to complete water service line survey

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The City of South Bend is calling on residents to fill out a survey to identify their service line material before a nationwide October 2024 deadline.

The survey is part of the city’s work to follow new regulations from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which requires all public water utilities to identify water line materials and map them by the fall.

South Bend officials say residents’ learning what material their water lines are made of also helps protect them from potential lead risks.

The survey can be found online or by scanning the QR code below. A video is also available on the web link showing how residents can find out what their lines are made of.
