South Bend sees heavy storm damage

Wednesday’s storm caused damage to the Sunnymede and River Park neighborhoods.

Around 6:30 p.m. strong winds knocked down multiple trees throughout the area.

Some of the worst damage was on Northside Blvd. just north of the St. Joseph River.

The road is blocked off where a tree fell near Newman Recreation Center. The building was also hit by several other trees.
