South Bend to open applications to local businesses and non-profits for security grant
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced applications will open to local businesses and non-profits on Saturday, June 15, for the opportunity to receive funds through the Sync South Bend Security Grant.
Businesses and organizations will have the chance to receive funds to improve the security of their properties.
City officials say it has improved and expanded on the Business Security Grant for 2024.
Officials say this grant will sponsor new technology installations or upgrades for organizations across the city.
Applicants may apply for up to $4,000 of funds toward eligible installations like cameras, security infrastructure, or lighting.
Or they may apply for up to $2,900 for reimbursement of only a fususCORE. Officials say fususCORE enables businesses to integrate their cameras with the South Bend Police Department’s Real-Time Crime Center.
South Bend's partner security vendor must visit the applicant site and a connection to the Real-Time Crime Center is required to participate in the grant.
Officials add there is no deadline to apply and program applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Local businesses and non-profits interested in learning more are invited to attend an open house on Monday, June 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Howard Park Event Center.
