South Bend to release more info today on ongoing land deal

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Tuesday, we are expecting to hear more from the city of South Bend about its ongoing land deal.

Monday, we found out the city is putting the Family Dollar property up for sale.  The Board of Public Works approved a resolution.  It allows the city to seek two appraisals of the property before setting a price.

The land was initially purchased for St. Joseph's High School, but a judge later ruled the land transfer unconstitutional.

Once the price is set and published, the city says it will accept offers through early October.
