South Bend trash pickup schedule changes for holidays

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - City of South Bend residents should prepare for a change in their trash pickup schedule the next couple weeks as city employees observe the holidays. City offices will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1).

For the week of December 25, the trash pickup schedule will adjust as follows:

• Monday, December 25 – no trash service
• Tuesday, December 26 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Monday
• Wednesday, December 27 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Tuesday
• Thursday, December 28 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Wednesday
• Friday, December 29 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Thursday

For the week of January 1, the trash pickup schedule will adjust as follows:

• Monday, January 1 – no trash service
• Tuesday, January 2 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Monday
• Wednesday, January 3 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Tuesday
• Thursday, January 4 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Wednesday
• Friday, January 5 – pickup for areas usually serviced on Thursday
