South Bend's Erskine Golf Course celebrates 100th birthday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Local officials, members of the Erskine family, and more gathered at the local golf course today to celebrate its100th Anniversary.

The event was free and featured family-friendly activities, music, and local vendors, including golf related activities for all ages.

"We are at Erskine Park golf course, celebrating the 100 Years of the golf course today," said Director of Golf Operations for the City of South Bend Cody Risedorph. "We have the opportunity to have a golf course that was opened in 1925 and to be still here in great condition, great staff, great community, and to be able to celebrate 100 years, then also to have members of the Erskine family that have came to join us today. So it's a great celebration overall."

Risedorph said there has been lots of activity this year and many members of the community are enjoying the golf course.

"And again, conditions are very good, and we welcome everyone to come out and join us at Erskine Park golf course," Risedorph said. 

"And we are, yes, we are a public facility, and we also have other locations, like Elbel Park golf course and Studebaker golf course."
