SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Thursday was the third night of Kwanzaa and South Bend's Indiana Black Expo celebrated by inviting everyone to take time to learn about the holiday.
The third candle on the kinara was lit inside the St. Joseph County Public Library auditorium as folks remembered and celebrated the seven principles of Kwanzaa, alongside music and refreshments.
Some notable names were honored as elders of the community, including former police chief Darryl Boykins.
