South Bend's interim police chief to pull double duty as an on-call coroner

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend's interim police chief Chuck Hurley will go back to the coroner's office.

He will added to the on-call coroner schedule in October.

Hurley will also remain as the acting police chief while the search for a new police continues.

Before becoming the interim chief, Hurley was the chief deputy coroner.

ABC57 was told that Hurley could hold the two positions because one is a city position while the other is a county position.
