SOUTH BEND, Ind,-- The Paramount School of Excellence location in South Bend is officially open! Friday afternoon, school leaders held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate.
The new charter school is getting ready to open its doors to over 300 students this August.
The Indianapolis-based charter school has expanded to Michiana, with the location on Hepler Street in South Bend.
The CEO of Paramount, Tommy Reddicks, says the competition was fierce to take over the building after it was surrendered by the South Bend Community School Corporation.
"Our schools in Indianapolis have just blown the scores out of the water, with just amazing academic returns from our students,” he said. “And I think our results continue to tell clear stories that it doesn't matter how much money you make, it doesn't matter the color of your skin, you're going to perform well in our system, and you're going to have a great time doing it."
Paramount South Bend is enrolling students now! The first day of school is Aug. 1.
