South Bend's Parks Director retiring after 34 years

The Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of South Bend announced he will be retiring at the end of the year.

Phil St. Clair has held the position since 1993 when Joe Kernan was mayor.

He has been with the city since 1982.

“It’s been an honor and privilege to serve the city over the past 34 years,” St. Clair said in a press release from the city. “A great deal of physical building and community building has taken place during my tenure, and I thank my colleagues, strong volunteers and civic groups, active community leaders, and residents for making South Bend’s parks and recreation what it has become.”
