South Bend's Potawatomi Zoo adds more roar

The Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend now has three new lions for visitors to see.

The lions are all ten years old and have lived together as a pride since 2013. They are named Kemba, (male) and Shaba and Shtuko (both females)

The zoo says the lions will often be visible from their indoor space, but they won't have access to their outdoor habitat until they've finished a 30-day quarantine, which is protocol for all animals that arrive at the zoo.

"Lions are an iconic species here at the Potawatomi Zoo, and we are thrilled to introduce the public to this new group," said John Sisk, executive director of the Potawatomi Zoo.
