South Shore Line announces end of temporary busing

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line announced the end of the temporary busing between the Gary Metro Center and Dune Park stations.

The change is scheduled to take effect on April 9 and the temporary busing had been in place since February 2022 in order that the Double Track NWI Project could be realized during that time.

The train service will utilize the current schedule that began in October 2023 and the station pick-up areas that had been previously relocated will be returned to their permanent locations.

The Double Track train schedule and any additional trains are yet to be announced, but they are planned for near future.
