ABC 57 UPDATE: To assist with passengers currently in Chicago, NICTD plans to run a two-car shuttle train from Millennium Station to East Chicago only. There is no service eastward beyond East Chicago due to damage on the tracks, wire and poles. Passengers should be advised to remain in Chicago if they need to travel east of East Chicago at this time.
This service will continue until train 101 departs Millennium Station at 12:45 a.m. on June 12.
The team at NICTD continues to do all they can to restore service in cooperation with emergency responders activated across the region.
ORIGINAL: CHICAGO-- Due to intensive severe storms in northwest Indiana, the South Shore Line has halted service.
Due to extensive damage across northwest Indiana that will require repair by various agencies and the railroad, passengers should expect no service for the morning rush hour. We will keep you updated as the situation evolves.
