South Shore Line temporary busing begins May 6
SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The South Shore Line will begin temporarily busing passengers between Carroll Ave. and the South Bend Airport on Monday, May 6.
The temporary busing period will begin May 6 and continue through May 17, including the weekend of May 11 and 12.
Other temporary busing periods will occur throughout the spring and summer while the train line upgrades the track and segments of overhead wire between Michigan City and South Bend.
Busing availability at the South Bend Airport will be limited. Westbound passengers should consider boarding at the Carroll Ave. Station or other western stations.
Westbound trains 422 & 424 and eastbound trains 401 & 701 operating exclusively between South Bend and Michigan City are canceled during busing.
Weekday Trains #6, #403, #14, #7, #18, #9, #20, #11, #17, #22, and #19 will be bused May 6-10 and May 13-17 to match the published Monday-Friday train schedule between Carroll Ave. and South Bend.
Weekend Trains #703, #502, #503, #504, #506, #505, #508, #507, #509, #510, and #511 will be bused May 11-12 to match the published weekend train schedule between Carroll Ave. and South Bend.
South Bend passengers travelling westbound will board buses north of the train platform at the South Bend Airport, disembark at Carroll Ave. and board their normally scheduled trains.
South Bend bound passengers will disembark trains at Carroll Ave. and board a bus for the rest of their trip.
