South Shore Line to put alcohol restrictions in place for Taste of Chicago

SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- The South Shore Line announced on Tuesday that there will be alcohol restrictions on the trains for the weekend of Sept. 6-9, the same days as the popular Taste of Chicago food event in Grant Park.

"South Shore Line passengers are advised that due to the Taste of Chicago taking place Sept. 6-8, 2024, in Grant Park," train officials said.

Alcohol restrictions:

  • Friday, Sept. 6: Alcohol prohibited on all trains after 7 p.m.
  • Saturday/Sunday, Sept. 7-8: Alcohol prohibited on all trains all day.

Glass bottles are never allowed on any trains.
