South Shore trains back on schedule after storm damage

CHESTERTON, Ind. -- South Shore trains ran behind on Thursday morning because of Wednesday night's severe storms.

Officials from the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District said that westbound train 116 was 20 to 25 minutes late.

Thunderstorms caused extensive damage to their signal system. Crews worked through the night to make repairs.

Now, the trains are back on schedule.
