Southwestern Michigan College Board votes to appoint 9th college president
SMC CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Klint Pleasant, Ed.D, of Rochester Hills, MI will become Southwestern Michigan College's new president.
The SMC Board of Trustees voted on December 29 to appoint Pleasant, the current Senior Vice President at Rochester Christian University. According to Southwestern Michigan College, Pleasant has been employed in higher education for 28 years and has been an administrator for the past 20 years. His management roles have included college enrollment, athletics and community relations, while also teaching in the classroom.
Southwestern Michigan College's former president, Joe Odenwald, left in May to take over at Alma College. Brent Brewer has served as interim president in the meantime. SMC says Pleasant's official start date as the 9th president will be announced at a later time.
