Special prosecutor to work with ISP to investigate Councilman Davis

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office just announced they filed a petition for a special prosecuting attorney to be appointed to investigate complaints regarding South Bend Councilman Henry Davis Jr.

The special prosecutor would work with the Indiana State Police on the investigation.

A resident filed a criminal complaint against Davis after he posted a photo of a naked man and a dog along with an article to his personal Facebook page.

The special prosecutor is being requested because Davis previously worked for the prosecutor's office and because he is an elected official and would be entitled to a special prosecutor.

The South Bend Police Department asked the Indiana State Police to investigate Davis to avoid the appearance of impropriety.

Prosecuting Attorney Daniel Hampton of Kosciusko County was contacted and said he is available to act as the special prosecutor in this case.
