'Spring Into Action' event to support non-profits this weekend
GOSHEN, Ind. -- This weekend, Goshen businesses are coming together to help raise money for local non-profit organizations.
The spring into action initiative runs Friday and Saturday in Downtown Goshen.
A number of Goshen small business owners are inviting you to come out to shop and eat at participating shops.
They are all planning to donate 10% of their profits to the Elkhart county non-profit of their choice!
The Goshen Chamber of Commerce says it’s a win-win for everyone involved.
The Goshen Chamber of Commerce CEO and President Nick Kieffer says it’s been a challenging year for merchants and one way to get through this is by working together and supporting each other as a community.
Although, many stores and restaurants are still feeling the impacts of the pandemic, the participants are on a mission to pay it forward.
Rebecca Haab participating in giving back to the community says she thinks it is important to support the community right now, just like the community has supported her this past year.
“We kind of just felt the urge, you know that this is our time to give back to other people. I know we can reach out to different platforms for sales and such but not non-profits because they usually have events and stuff and those really have been limited so I think this is a good opportunity for us to be able to give back to them,” said Rebecca Haab, owner of Twisted Britches Boutique.
“They came up with this a few years ago as a way to help non-profits and give back to the community. From my standpoint from the chambers, it’s a great win-win! We get people out shopping and eating and dining in our local establishment and we’re also supporting our non-profit community which can obviously definitely use the help,” said Nick Kieffer.
